Schedule for Quick Response Programs

caution During the share-risks phase of telescope and instrument commissioning, the dates indicated on this page are subject to change at short notice. Further information describing the Quick Response (QR) process and activation of QR programs is available.

The next scheduled Acquisition Camera blocks on Gemini South are listed below. In addition, to further develop the QR process and extend the availability of the AcqCam, we will accept triggers from approved Quick Response proposals outside of these assigned science blocks. The nominally available period therefore now includes telescope engineering time provided that there is no immovable work due to personnel travel constraints, telescope down time or other factors.

At this time, we aim to execute observations 18-24 hours after triggered, if the next observing night is available. Even considering the increased risk of not being able to execute a valid trigger, we hope that the flexibility achieved by using unscheduled nights will greatly increase the likelihood of carrying out QR observations.

We will accept triggers for QR observations in the period:

February 20 - March 24, 2002

Assigned Acquisition Camera blocks during this period are:

Preference will be given to approved follow-up observations of programs that have already been started.
