Title: | Gemini Deep Deep Survey - Nod-and-Shuffle Observations
Modes: | MOS used in Nod-and-Shuffle mode
Additional instrument verification: | Data reduction pipeline for MOS Nod-and-Shuffle data. Mask designs for Nod-and-Shuffle.
Telescope verification: | Acquisition and guiding with GMOS for tested modes. Nod-and-Shuffle performance. Stability of guiding over long periods of time and large hour angles.
Proposed observing sequence: | Multiple 15-cycle exposures with sub-integration time of 60sec.
OT program file: | Not yet available
Science background: |
The Nod-and-Shuffle SV observations will concentrate on one of the fields of the Gemini Deep Deep Survey. A total of 5 nights are scheduled for this program in order to demonstrate the capability of obtaining very deep spectroscopy with GMOS in Nod-and-Shuffle mode. It is expected that the data are deep enough to obtain 50 redshifts for galaxies with redshifts between 1 and 2. |
