What is your current position and at which telescope?

My current position it is Communication Coordinator at Gemini South, in Chile.

In four lines or less, explain what you do as part of the Gemini Observatory team?

I do coordinate the outreach programs of the observatory in Chile, as same as, the communications with different Gemini’s stakeholders.

How long have you worked for Gemini?

For 9 years

What drew you to this job?

Collaboration. This is one of those jobs where you realize that collaboration is the only way to reach difficult objectives. And I want to collaborate with that.

What is the best part of your job?

Be in touch with those publics that never thought they were be able to knew about science, astronomy or technologies.

Where are you originally from/where did you grow up?

From Santiago, Chile.

What skill do you think is most important to know for your job?

Communication skills.

Why is astronomy important?

Because it is one of the few places where you can see a diversity of people -regardless of race, gender or social status – working efficiently together for higher goals.

What is your favorite movie?

Trois Couleurs, by Krzysztof Kieslowski

What is the latest book you have read?

“El Aleph”, by Jorge Luis Borges.

What three albums would you bring with you to a desert island?

“Alturas de Macchu Picchu”, by Los Jaivas.

What is one hobby of yours?

Read, Bike.
