Science background: |
The aim is to obtain spectra of the z~4 galaxy candidates in the field of PMN2314+0201. The program is the start of the spectroscopic follow up for GMOS SV program 67. At first only a moderate exposure time would be necessary, to determine whether Ly-alpha emission is present in any of the candidate high-z objects. Deeper MOS observations would be necessary in the future (not necessarily as part of SV) in order to obtain redshifts for the galaxies which do not show Ly-alpha emission. |
