The Vinchuca version of the Observing Tool was first publicly
released on 8 June 2007. The most significant changes
from the previous public release (Avispa) are summarize below:
Modified instrument components and iterators
Michelle: filter list updated
T-ReCs: default nod dwell time changed from 30 seconds to 45 seconds
NIFS: Mask Offset parameter active for all masks
User interaction and user interface features
Phase II checking rules implemented
General rules in place for all queue instruments
Instrument specific rules available for GMOS-N/S, NIFS, NIRI, and Michelle
When
enabled (the default) checking is automatic. After a change is made to
a component you may need to click 'Save' at the bottom of the screen
for the rules to be re-applied.
The existence of warning or erros will not prevent any fetch/store actions at this time.
Updates to the current rules and new rules for T-ReCS, GNIRS, and new instruments will occur periodically.
Auto-updating
feature - the OT can download and install updates and update the local
database for single-user installations. Multi-user or site installations should continue to install the OT from the distribution files.
Key commands use the Cmd key on Mac OS X.
Information from the new Phase I Band 3 tab is included.
NGO check box in the file attachment tab for NGO checking of finding charts and mask designs.
Various small bug fixes and performance improvements.
